Change Water Pump

I have a 1998 55hp Sea Pro outboard that i am<br />trying to change the water pump on..........i took out the four bolts holding the gear case on but i can't get the gear case off to change the pump....am i missing a bolt somewhere that should be removed?......or is there another reason i can't get it off?

Remove the trim tab there is probable a bolt under it.Note the postion for restall.

Hi Willy, You might also have to disconnect the shift shaft to get the lower unit to come off. There may be a bolt holding it, located under the carburetors.

Thanks Bluefish thats what it was........there was a stud with a nut on it under the trim tab....after i took that off it came apart no problem......i wonder why it didn't show it in the directions for changing the impeller it only showed four bolts. Thanks again....<br /><br /> WILLY
