changed water seperator now it wont start

I have a 90 searay with a 99 7.4L with MPI bravo 1. it was running rough so I changed the water seperator and now it wont start? I filled the filter when I put it on. If I spray injector cleaner in and try and start it, it runs until the spray is gone? any help would be greatly appreciated.

is the fuel pump working? when you turn the key to the run position, do you hear the fuel pump run momentarily before cranking the motor?

also i would check the fuel filter, it may be clogged, I also have a searay and on the top of the fuel tank where the fuel line comes into the tank is a 3" long fitting, that fitting has a screen built in it and if it gets or starts to get clogged it starves the engine of fuel thus, runs rough or wont start
