Putting a new fuel pump on my 1977 115hp Evinrude new one has an oiler side on it, do I block it off or can I use it for fuel and put one carb on each side of pump?

Re: Changing fuel pump

umm I think you have the wrong pump. I could be wrong but the 1977 fuel pump is still available.

Daviet is correct thats what I get to. The pump you have is for oil injection.

I haven't recieved my pump yet my original has one gas line that tee's off to the carbs and the diagrahm shows two lines on the new one and I assume one is an oil line but it may be two fuel lines, might have to call them.

Re: Changing fuel pump

unless I'm mistaken the no. you gave is for a 25 to 55 hp I did find a kit model 20, 18-7820, 393103.

Re: Changing fuel pump

The 1977 johnson parts list diagram may be misleading. It shows a fuel pump with the two downward pointing hose barbs, as you indicated. The pictured fuel pump must be for the 85 hp unit (385784,) as one of those two hose barbs goes to the crankcase for the suction pulses on that model only. The 115/140 hp fuel pump (388268) should have only one downward-pointing hose barb-to feed the carb manifold, as it gets it's suction from the crankase through the fiber gasket, 303615. If you go to the 1978 115 hp, it correctly shows the 388268 fuel pump application diagram.
