Changing Marker Light Bulbs

Hi all,

I just bought a 1998 ShoreLander trailer and a marker light is out. I can't get the lens off the light to change the bulb. I am sure this is because it's a sealed unit against water intrusion.

So what is the procedure for replacing the bulbs? Do I need to remove thje light from the trailer first?

I figured I'd ask the experts before I broke something.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Changing Marker Light Bulbs

I hate those dang Shoreland'r trailers, and all their non standard parts.

The last 2 I had, I needed to replace either the bulbs or the entire light.
Replaced the light to a more conventional and readily available light.

On the factory marker lights, the lens pops off from the silver (plastic) frame.
I used a tiny flat screwdriver, put in in from the side, pried it off.
If you go from the top or bottom, you will almost surely break it.

On the 2 that I had, you had to get the lens off before you could remove the light housing base.
