CHANGING SPARKPLUGS

IT'S GETTING ABOUT TIME TO CHANGE MY PLUGS, AND I REMEMBER READING SOME POSTINGS THAT SOME OF YOU WERE NOT COMPETELY HAPPY WITH CHAMPION PLUGS.ANY COMMENTS? I HAVE A 1987 125 FORCE ANY RECOMENDATIONS?<br /> THANKS

Force comes stock with champions. Personally I would use what came in it, especially if you had good luck with the old ones. The only other option I would consider is NGK, but try to find them at an auto parts store to save some serious cash. O'Reilly's & Advance auto parts carry NGK, and AutoZone has the champions. $1.50 vs. $4 at the marine dealers

AMEN KEV!!!<br /><br />It outta be a crime the way some dealers jack the price of marine parts. My local Napa Auto Parts store carries a lot of marine components now...and usually for about 50% - 75% cheaper than at the marine dealer. I can appreciate inflating the price of goods to cover the seasonal flux...but geez. Anyway, sorry to vent like this. Weren't we talking about spark plugs here? I'm with Kev...if it ran well with OEM Champions...stick with 'em. Or, you may want to try NGK if only to see if your engine's performance improves??<br /><br />Walt

After a year on NKG BUHX and a new set this year, my mechanic put in Champions when I was in need of a CD unit. With L76V Champs the combustion is crisper sounding than before.

the older force 3&4 cyl motors...hard runnin ngk BUHW...NOT BUHX....lotsa trolling and no skiing....then use a B9HS-10....
