This is what i do I keep a tire mounted on a hub when flat occurs I remove carter key large nut pull off tire and hub put on new tire and hub tighten large nut insert carter key and away I go.No rusty lug nuts to deal with<br /> Mike

Sounds like a good idea, Mike. What do you do about getting your bearing buddy or grease cap off, and do you repack the bearing while you have the hub off? I've recently seen ads for spare hub/tire mounts and I wondered how they plan to deal with the above.<br /><br />I've been there with the rusty lug nuts. . . in the middle of the night on the Interstate. Not fun. What I do now is pull both wheels, wire brush and WD40 all lugs, then remount the wheels before each long trip and about twice a season otherwise. Of course murphy's law applies: When you are prepared, it doesn't happen.<br /><br />Smooth waters.<br />JB

A good anti-seaze grease on the treads works for me. Much easier than dealing with the hub.
