Hi there fellow iboaters!

To make a long story short, i bought a chaparral 31 signature in ONSET, MA, USA 2 weeks ago (i come from Europe). Now, the problem is the boat height with the radar arch. It has to come off if i want to transport it to Europe. The marina i bought it from wants to charge approx. 2000 USD to do it. Is it really so hard to take the arch down? Has anyone got experience in taking the arch down?

Thanx in advance

It would depend on how much STUFF is going through the arch and if it was HARD wired VS plugs like they generaly use on a sailboat mast

It is NOT a one man job and if its fiberglass they will have to use a lot of caution so there is no dammage and if would have to be packed for shiping

Ayuh,......

Doesn't the Whole Boat need to be Packaged for Shipping,..??..??.....

I'd think that taking down,+ securing the arch would be included with that Fee,+ Service...........

Well, the shrinkwrap for a 33' was 672 USD. They wanted to charge around 2k for dismantling the radar arch. Isn't that a bit high?

Thanx
