charging a battery too much?

is it possible to charge a marine starting battery too much. If i charge it after each use, will that lower the batteries life expectancy\\??

If you use an old fashioned transformer-rectifier battery charger, then yes. If you use a modern electronically supervised charger (usually has a readout), then no.

The main item for long battery life is don't let the electrolyte level get too low.

+1 !!!!!

A moden battery charger is smart enough to monitor the state of charge and prevent over charging. A Battery Charger/maintainer is a good choice as well !!

Low Electrolite will expose the plates and they ruin quickly !

If the engine has a charging system and the boat is used fairly often you shouldn't need to charge it. A small battery maintainer is all that's needed.
