Started the engine and Volt gauge on helm reads 12V usually reads around 14V....couple minutes later it's reading 14V....we go out fishing gauge is still around 14V (normal) shut the motor off, start up again same issue again...at this point we are underway, engine running at 2500 RPM and still showing 12V then it jumps up to the normal 14V after about 15 minutes of running time....
Next time it happened, I had my multi-meter with me and immediately checked the battery and it was showing 12V so was the volt gauge on the helm, then the multi-meter was showing around 14V and so was the Volt gauge on helm so figuring it's an alternator issue....
Thinking it's alternator and my question is, is the alternator rebuildable or do I need to purchase a new one...
