Re: Charging output

Thanks tasha one more that I should have added was when I'm starting the engine and when the key goes back to the run postion, as the starter disengages it makes a whooo sound. It be like, ringggggggg to start and then when I let off the starter it sometimes goes wooo.. Any ideas on the cause?

Re: Charging output

Must be an "oriental" starter. Sorry -- couldn't resist. The ringing sound is the starter bendix (the starter gear) meshing with the teeth the on flywheel which is sort of normal. When you release the key, that noise may be a dry bushing in the bendix or dry bearings in the starter motor.

I can hear it now. Dry bearings in the starter.

Re: Charging output

Thanks all any worries on this, and if so what should I do to fix... I thought about posting one of the car guys examples as an audio file... however didn't want to scare any small children.
