Charging Problems

I am new to this board. I can sure use some help! I have a 1988 40 hp evinrude (e40tlccs) batt. not charging.
1. new bat
2. new rectifer
3. all conections clean an tight
4. stator no short to ground. yellow wires to yellow wires off stator show no resitance.


What kind of voltage should in read off the rectifer with eng. running

Your #4..... Yellow wire to yellow wire should show resistance on your ohm meter, exactly how much escapes me at the moment but I'm sure someone will jump in here shortly with that info.

Verify stator output to rectifier ... you should get -> 30 VAC at fast idle. Note that's AC across the yellow pair.

Should it be yellow to yellow ? Yellow to grd? Rectifier has 3 yel 1 red
