Batteries won't charge
Volt meter on boat shows 9-8 v
At some point ( not all the time ) there is a Lon constant alarm until I either stop or slow down and it's goes off
Trim up also sets same alarm off
Also after some time ( I'm assuming ) once batt is almost done the throttle is gone only idle until it kills and let it sit then idle to dock till it kills
At this point full throttle is nothing or maybe just idle it's like it's not getting fuel ( even in cold start position with throttle )
Maybe bc EFI is gone due to no battery?
Do I need a new stator? If so is this something I can do
HELP !
Had 5 kids with us yesterday!

Re: Charging system

Check the rectifier and the voltage regulator if you know how to. If the rectifier goes, so will your charging ability till it's fixed. If it's your voltage regulator, you should be able to disconnect it and let your battery become the reglulator. Just check it regularly to ensure it's full. If both check out then I would look into having a marine tech test the stator for you. They have specialized testers that connect to a wiring harness that will tell them what's good and bad. With a full battery and the engine running, use a digital voltmeter at your battery terminals to check the voltage coming from the battery. If you have an amperage clampmeter with your voltmeter, clamp it around each wire to the battery from the motor to see if there's the proper amperage going to the battery. Remember, proper voltage can exist without the correct amount of amperage. The low voltage you're reading could mean a low output from your stator though.
