Chart - Definition

I'm looking at navigation charts of my area (Lake Ontario). I notices several terms on there I'm not familiar with. Please help me define them.

1. What is a Crib? Example. Water depth over crib is 1'.
2. Obstruction Rep. I know what an obstruction is, but the Rep?
3. Obstruction PA. I know what an obstruction is, but the PA?
4. Dumping ground? (its a small dotted square area)
5. There are marks like (*) and (*) with dots around them?
6. Priv PA?
