In looking at some nautical charts (very new at this) this is a symbol I see alot of. Particuallry in Lake Erie.

The symbol looks like a football. Dotted oval with three vertical lines piercing one horizontal line inside of it. The notation next to it for example is "WK PA, 3 Ft. Rep." Are these shipwrecks? Whats the notations indicate?

Thanks guys
Bill

There is one about mile north off Avon Point, when lake is calm you can see it from the surface since it is only in 8 ft of water.
