I know there are probably alot of opinions on the matter and you know what they say about opinions. With that being said what is a good fair priced chartplotter fish finder combo or is it best just to buy two seperate units? Also I have a garmin nuvi 205w for my car will the charts sd card work in this to take it on the boat?

Re: chartplotter combo

keep with garmin chartplotter of the 's' variety which is for sonar but not cheap but at least you know where u are and the closest land is under the boat.if your in tidal area it will be a blessing and will always get you home even in the thickest of fog obviously battery dependant and gives you freedom of movement when u master using them.car one is no good for the water.iphones with correct apps have been used but rely on signal and not waterproof either.

I have the Navionics app on my HTC EVO, it's the only app I've paid for and it was more than worth it. It backs my Raymarine A65 up perfectly.

I use the Navionics app and it saved my ***** when I followed the wrong channel marker light. It was 1 AM and I thought I knew my way back to the dock. I was wrong and very lost. I fired up the Navionics app on my HTC Hero and typed in the name of the marina I needed to go to and it guided me right back.

This to is the only app I have paid for and it will be on every phone I own in the future...
