Anyone out there chasing muskies out of the 1800 Fisherman. I'm thinking of adding on to the rear deck to cover the splash well. Have any of you made this type of modification?

Re: chasing muskies with the 1800 fisherman

Been fishing ski's for a few years now out of my 2006 1800 Fisherman. Overall, boat has been great. Don't get me wrong, there are things I would like different but it's a 50% family and 50% fish.
I like to fish from the back of the boat, so I know what you mean about a bigger deck. I have spent countless hours thinking about the same thing. You could definately build a deck extension out of wood and throw some carpet on it.
In front of the jump seats, that little boxed area on the floor where the top sits on, is where I thought you could anchor it somehow. Or, somehow use the two rear seat floor mounts to anchor it. What if you mounted 2 seat posts underneath the new deck so it will just fit in the floor seat post mounts?

Anyways running a Yamaha F150 /T8 combo. 24volt Terrova and a HDS10 at console.:D

Thought about that but I decided to go to thr rear of the jump seats due to access to the rod storage area and the tendancy for the guy in the rear to run the fish into the motor on the figure eight. I saw something on the newer Alumacrafts that got me thinking. If I ever get something going I will post some pics.
