I want to thank you all for the input and advice. I will certainly be checking the coolant every week after hearing that !!!!! and the oil for contaminants. I am now very anti Ford for the experiences I have had with the last few that I have owned. I am picking the Jimmy up on Thursday and will let you all know how it works out for us. Oil appears fine at present and the coolant O.K......but time will tell !!!!!

I have a 96' GMC Sonoma pickup with the 4.3 V6, and it's been a good truck, but it is having hard cold starting (fuel pump issues) at this time, and I do expect to eventually have intake manifold gasket issues in the future, I visit a major S-10 forum on the web that constantly describes problems with these very issues, on 95' and newer trucks.
