Cheap fuel cells on Ebay

Has anyone tried the fuel cells that are around 329-350 on Ebay? I'm sure they are Chinese knock offs, but with the VP part now close to $850, it's tempting. My fuel cell is so stuck together, I can't get it apart to clean it, so may be looking at a new one.

Never bought one for a VP because never owned one, but would say there shouldn't be any issue. Add states its new, and ebay backs fraud.

What year and what engine unit are you dealing with? I was able to disassemble mine and clean it relatively easy.

That being said it might be worth a chance. They appear to be rebuilt/refurbished units, not new Chinese manufactured.

I have a 2003 5.7GXi-D. The fuel cells I'm looking at on Ebay are listed as new, and have a 1 year warranty.

I was able to take my fuel cell apart a couple of years ago when I thought I had a problem with it, but now it's frozen and you can see there's some corrosion around the joints. One of the torx screws that holds it together has really bad white powder corrosion on it's threads and it felt like the threads in the housing are toast.

I figured somebody here would have tried one by now. Do I have to be the guinea pig?

The fuel cells keep showing up with issues, wonder why no one has replaced it with a different setup, wouldn't take much. The low pressure pump is to make it easier on the HP pump. You could replace with just one Aero automotive, Weldon first choice, or other HP fuel pumps. You could also redesign and add two different pumps, just need to change some plumbing

Hopefully someone will come in and advise soon for your question.

Both the low pressure pump and high pressure pump were carter (airtex). The housing and fuel heat exchanger was made by alfa laval

Yes, it says Carter on my fuel cell.

These are supposedly new, and not VP parts. Search Ebay for 21608511 and you will find two of them. I have sent messages to both sellers asking for more info on the manufacturer, warranty, quality, etc. We'll see if they respond.
