I am looking to find a 15 or 20hp Honda 4 stroke motor. Does anyone know of an internet site that has good prices on these? My local dealer is asking MSRP for these things.

I am willing to take recommendations on an alternative. Honda had the best weight to hp ratio which is what I need for my inflatable. Pushing two guys with dive gear.

BTW, I don't see Suzuki listing a 20hp model. Did they make them in prior years?

Re: Cheap Honda outboard??

Honda is one of the manufacturers who prohibit their dealers from shipping their new motors to a customer which limits the dealers ability to sell via mail order or thru the internet. (kinda "protects" a dealers "franchise" territory. I've owned two Hondas--they're great motors--one way to find the best deal is to get the yellow pages and call every Honda OB dealer within a couple hundred miles and ask for pricing (cash and carry) I found a "leftover" (new last years model) 50 hp for less than a new 40 and a leftover 115 for less than a new 75. Just takes some calling around (it's worth it) Any honda dealer can perform warranty work after the sale (I've never needed to take either one back for anything though)
good luck in your search1

It may be too late for you now, but I "boat show shopped" all spring, and the closest the Honda 20 price came to the 18 HP Nissan 4-stroke (apples to apples, except HP) was about $1,500 difference, the Honda being higher.

I've owned 3 Hondas, and loved them, but went with the Nissan, and I haven't regretted it (yet). I only have 6.6 hours on the Nissan, but it has performed flawlessly so far. I got it from Cabelas, and with a "Cabelas credit card deal" thrown in at the same time, it beat the next closest price by around $100.
