Hey, a quick way to install the piston in the bore without buying a ring compressor, is to just get an automotive hose clamp about 3.5-4.5" in diameter.
Place it over the rings on the piston, make sure it is square to the top of the piston, snug it up with a screwdriver, verify it is sitting flush with the block on the bottom side, and gently tap it in with a hammer handle.
Just be sure to have the gap end of the rings centered over the locating pin on the piston, otherwise the ring can snap as it is tightened. I know this for a fact. :rolleyes:
