Re: Cheapest way to ship an outboard?
The cmc 65 is only a jack plate...I think you might be referring to the PT-35..which is meant for 35hp or less

Only reason I'm not going with the PT-35 is:

1) it is not that much less than the PT-130

2) I talked to a place that has installed them. (they don't sell them) and they said the PT-35 was a pain to install.

3) Since my motor is a 1986 35hp, if I ever have to repower, I want to go to a 40 or 50 and the PT-35 wouldn't be adequate and since they cost so darn much, I only want to spend it once.

I don't have any clue what year/hp my tilt trim went to....I bought my ugly boat used and it was on there.....It is just too bulky for my boat (takes up some room and in a 13' whaler, you don't have much room)

I'm assuming it is 1986 vintage. I'm going to put a post to see what I have to change out to go from power tilt/trim to manual....

If someone is interested I'm thinking about just swapping out the non-power for the power if they pay shipping....Each party would win and that's a good thing.
