check out the pics below of the damage to this hull and the "hook" it has created.
i've been through the many props, jackplate, dance and just finally learned to live with the terrible ride performance and bow plowing. (and wet rides that come from it).
I've always known about this damage, but never put much thought into it. till one night reading about it here on the forumns.
So i ask the experts. Does the type of damage shown below cause this type of ride?
I've been told by other PartyDeck owners that they are able to acheive Upper 30's MPH with a similiar set up and don't experience the same type of ride that i have.
SO I'm going to fix this problem. The question is how? How would you guys go about doing this?
Getting to this area from the topside is next to impossible. I would really like an option from the bottom side.
Should i rivet on some alluminum plate and then use some of the products i've read about here in the forums that cure hard and then can be sanded smooth? any combination of products that may work?
BTW, the problem is the similiar on both sides, but the other side is not this extreme.
BTW, when i bought the boat it hung over the trailer bunks. so while it looks like the previous owner hit something big on this side, i believe the other side was caused by the trailer set up (this has been fixed).
i'm very handy, so bring on the suggestions. i'm looking for ideas other than "take it to a weld shop and let them fill and grind". and just want some reasurance that the solution will hold up a little while.
