On small boats like mentioned, this anchor can slow a drift w some adjusting, like a driftsock, and really help catch more fish. I've got a 20lb. barbell weight that works good too!

You all will laugh at me but I use 16 pound sledgehammer heads for anchors on mud bottoms. I pick them up at the flea marked for a dollar or two. It works very well and if I lose one so what. They hold a lot better than the mush room ones.

I actually use an old disc off my truck, I drilled some bigger holes in it so the clip on my launch rope fits it and filled the vents with lead to up the weight but it works really well, there are times when my main anchor is just a bit to light and that does the trick, it is small and easy to store and I painted it with that rust converter stuff you get a at Autozone so it won't screw up the carpet.

I've got a 12ft tinney. My anchors are old window weights. They work just fine.

I've got several of those in different sizes around the garage. Maybe they're a little extra pocket money in the rough!
