Hey Rolmops, I dunno about the gun thing, (I'm not sure I understand your point here). Libs and Dems, and some wobbly Republicans who like to grow the government and get more intrusive and powerfull and always seem ta look for issues to cornvince the population to raise taxes or pass regulations and create massive bureaucracies to increase their power and influance, (at all of our expense). It's an equal opportuntiy issue, IMHO. They all do it, the Libs n' Dems are just much better at it, again: IMHO, jus' look at BIG AL! Respectfully JR
My point was simple.
Somebody reports about research being done in a certain field and somebody else tries to give it a well worn political twist,which is a ruse to either increase readership or increase research money.Next thing is adding a political generalization,so above mentioned article can be turned into political ammunition for whatever purpose.
My point was trying to disarm direction of the conversation by adding a few "hot words" thereby distracting the public from the subject and allowing the disintegration of the discussion into much worn name calling where it will peter out.
My apologies for using your thread as a testing ground for discussion tactics,but it was so wide open.
