The obviousness of the hoax is evident in a number of things. First is the two buckets of water on a slide of that length - they really wouldn't do much. Next is the extreme accuracy in hitting a very small target, when you couldn't control velocity on the slide consistently, no matter what you did. The end result would a great deal of variation in the distance the person would fly through the air, thus making a landing in the small pool highly unlikely. Most of all, however, is that there is no way that small a volume of water would cushion a landing like that. The person would end up slamming into the floor of the pool and the deck under it, resulting in significant injury.
isnopes verdict: FAKE!
That would have to be a hoax, or there was a lot of trial and error. You would have to compensate the exact weight of the person with the test dummy and account for wind direction and all. Those guys would have to be geniuses if that was real. I wouldn't try it.
