We were heading back from the lake yesterday and I blew a trailer tire.
Not a huge deal, but somehow the blown tire actually SUCKED UP the trailer fender and bent it completely down and underneath itself, pushing the top part into the boat.
Luckily the part of the fender that hit the boat was flat and only pushed up a few inches, and the hull is ok.
I still don't know how the fender got sucked into the tire, all I can figure is that as the tire tread came separated from the tire it flapped against the rear edge of the fender enough to grab it and pull it under.
Ever try finding a trailer tire in the early evening on a Sunday when you have no spare? Well there's another point; carry a spare!
MODS, sorry I see now that ther is a section just for trailering and towing. I tried to delete this and repost there but was unable to. Please move as neccesary.
