At WOT only reads 3000RPM???
Also when in forward or in reverse have to go 30% before I get throttle response. Engine runs great, better than new.
I did check lower shift cable and is ok too. (turning prop ect...

Re: Checked lower shift cable is ok, Alpha One

I know for a fact that I had bad gas. Last year the boat would sputter. I have a New Fuel Filter/Water seperator. I will change it tonight but I wont be able to get it on the water until Saturday. I did empty the fuel and put fresh fuel in. Is there any thing I should clean or replace due to bad fuel?
I did run the boat and use carb cleaner on the carb.
The motor runs great except for the wot at 3000rpm.
The boat had sat for 2 years and last year I did get it going. At first it did sputter but after a new tank of gas it did stop some what. I think the filter is shot. Have had the boat for 5 years and never replaced the fuel filter.

Ok it was the fuel filter/water seperator. It runs great. With better responce. I am going to launch on satuday to test it with a load. :)I also toped up the gear oil in the alpha one drive with a special pump that was only $10. It screws onto the liter of oil bottle.
Thanks for all the help.

I read another post where you said the same thing. By "topping it off" - does that mean the oil level was low? If so, that means you have a leak and that needs to be addressed.
