checking alarms - 1994 120 v4

need some help in jumping the wire to verify that heat alarm is working. i see the 2 tan wires at the top on each side of the block and i also see a tan wire in a group of wires on the left side of the boat motor.....kind of down low, about where the cowl snaps on. aprecciate any help. if the alrm is out, how do i replace it, where is it......maybe by the ingnition key? thanks

find the sensors at the top of the cylinder head, unplug at the connector and ground it against the head, should beeeeeep.

Turn your ignition on, you should hear a test beep for a second.

If so, alls well in boatland.

You have two, one in each cylinder head. After you disconnect the tan wire, ground the forward section of the wire to the block with the ignition in the run position and the horn should sound. Check each wire separately.

You would have to remove and heat the temperature switches in cooking oil to properly test them.
