If it's been any time since a change??
It's time to get in there and get your hands dirty.
The scarry part is the refilling of the oil.
It's filled from the stbd.side/middle of the drive.
Get a factory manual if possible. Clymer is ok.
The drive should be serviced every year, oil change and grease the u-joints.
That way you will catch any problems befor they get bad.
The shift mech. will corrode and need to be cleaned. The alignment should be checked too.
It will give you the satisfaction it's done right and you didn't have to pay anyone.
