BTW, beautiful boat. Love the style of the Checkmates. Someday I'd like to get one of the little 13ft Checkmates to tear up the river with.
Something like this. But with a little smaller motor.

Looks terrible. I can't understand how you willingly paid money for the piece of junk. They couldn't even get the resin smell out of it!! :p

Checkmate Playmate, I believe. Very hard to find! I would love one, too.

That smell; you know that styrene/resin smell.

I love the smell of resin in the morning.... Smells like... ...victory.

I'll be obsessing until I get it just right, too. :D

Yup, a Playmate. Not hard to find. More like D-mn near impossible to find.
The one pictured ran 82mph with the Optimax 225 on it. I think that 40-50hp would be more than enough.

Only 82? Must have been limited by turning into a kite at some point!

Totally awesome!!! I was anxiously awaiting the pics and videos! I feel fortunate enough to boat in the same area as you so that some day I will get to see the beautiful boat in person with my own eyes!

Another class act from the Upper Chesapeake area! Thanks, man!

Trade you a test drive for a cold drink off the back of your big Sea Ray cruiser!

Dude congrats, that is one sweet boat. Come to think of it probably the nicest I've seen on here. I want a ride!

At one time there was a long thread about it on Scream and Fly. He said that he backed off at that point because it was getting a little "squirrelly". After that he put a 60hp on it and it runs mid-40's.

There are still videos on youtube.

Stop it at :36 and it looks like an Alien has taken over a kiddie boat from the amusement park.

Can't watch youtube at work. Subscribed so I remember to check it out at home. Congrats on the splash! Yeah I can only imagine the response from that Merc. Heck my old Evinrude has amazing response from on plane to faster on plane, I'd probably snap my neck with that thing. Such a cool boat. With the open bow, aluminum trailer and 2 stroke outboard, that's one super boat that's going to be just as easy to own.

ALIENS!

Those engines are sick. The company name is a marketing disaster.

Phil, I watched a piece about their alliances with boat manufacturers and it was pretty impressive...they're building hulls around 7's technology....I'm a watcher of the stuff:rolleyes:

Oh, I am all over them and paying attention to them. I know the roots of those engines and know a little bit of what is going on inside the company.

BTW, Sick = Great

But I think "7" sucks as a company name! I'm routing for them. Still... "7" ? Really? Haha.

Then you must love Caterham cars, commonly called "Se7ens".
