I know another feller says he wants Ford to go broke, but I gotta give them a blessing.

My best man and friend since high school, by no fault of his own got pinched out of a nice job in the recession and has been struggling to find a decent job of any sort. :grumpy:

He's been working part-time, 2nights a week overnights at a hotel for the past year, but no thanks to Ford he will now be a full-time employee with some benefits again (provided the hair follicles are clean...which they are he's a good dude.)

My buddy is super stoked to be living a semi-normal life again and for that I cannot thank Ford enough. They gave this guy some normalcy when it was taken from him about 3 years ago and to see a guy finally notice a light at the end of the tunnel is a really good thing. :D

They can advertise to folks all they want, after-all that is creating some jobs also. Thanks Ford...

Oh BTW, it doesn't make a difference but I'm a Chevy guy, it's the only brand I've ever bought and I own 4 myself personally. I think this might be changing soon as I have to help where I can.

Re: Cheers to Ford.

A correctly placed comma would change that phrase a lot.

????
Is that what you meant? Not sure what you mean.
It's tough to get sarcasm across using interpersonal communication...I guess I did mean no thanks in an online sarcastic sorta way. So I was being sarcastic by saying no thanks, and I really am thankful for Ford! I know they've allowed many families wonderful opportunity.

You guys and your perfection  I'll make sure I place the commas in there proper locations next time.

Perfection? Nobody is asking for that, just trying to figure out what you meant.

I have no idea what you mean by

and it doesn't actually sound like you do either, if you are just "guessing". :)

"No thanks to Ford" only means one thing in the language I was taught....and it does not mesh with your title "Cheers to Ford" which is why I asked.
Kinda sorry I did.

Great news about your pal, though.

Re: Cheers to Ford.

Pretty simple - I think it was a typo.

'but no thanks to Ford...'

was supposed to read

'but NOW thanks to Ford...'

That is what took it to be as well.

That makes perfect sense...wasn't a missing comma, it was a missing "w"...thanks.

LOL...he didn't ruin anything. I don't mind being critiqued on my spelling and grammar. I am thankful this wasn't in front of the Board of Law Examiners :D

Not sure if he is speaking of me...or JB...or both....:)
Can't speak for JB, (he is usually more balanced than I am anyway), but I wasn't intending to criticise, just really wasn't sure what you meant.

Normally a typo is pretty obvious and doesn't alter the meaning or comprehensibility...in this case one letter made a huge difference.

No matter, it still doesn't change the great outcome for your friend, and that is _ay more important than a missing "w". :)

Nice story regardless of where he landed, but here in the motor city we have some very strong views about the good and the bad, when your main economy was the auto industry. I'm a Chevy guy too, my dad was an engineer at GM, I have at least 10 relatives that were engineers at GM. I get a nice discount with GM, so I always had one.
I've changed my mind and will not be owning a Chevy on my next one, and you got it, I will be looking at the new Fords too, when I'm ready to buy. I respect Ford motor company, and I'm glad to read your story.
