have chance to get a 75 hp seahorse johnson last run 6 years ago they said it ran with a muffler but when put in lake got water in cylinders so it has just set it is not stuck my ? is is this motor worth putting money into modle #v4al15e

1962 or 63. They're strong runners and purr like a kitten when they run right. But I hope you have a few shares of Exxon. They suck gas like it's still cheap, and they're not known for speed.

I think some igntion parts are hard to come by and expensive;specifically distributor cap and rotor.

78, If it got water in the cylinders, it is possible that it needs new head gaskets, at least. You might like to check for availability of these, and parts in general. The good news is that motor shares a lot of parts (especially ignition parts) with other v-4s over many years.
