Chev 305 - 228hp Mercruiser - MPG?

I have a 1983 26' Starcraft boat with a Chev 305 - 228hp Mercruiser and is planning on a approximately 950km trip. I'm just wondering how much gas I will need for the trip and what the MPG might be on this boat and motor.

A 2008 26' Four Winns with a fuel injected 5.0 gets 2.3 MPG maximum. With your older carbureted engine in unknown condition, you'll probably see a best of around 2 MPG and average around 1.5 MPG.

950 km is about 590 miles, so you'll burn around 400 gallons of gas.
