ok guys I have search the threads and cant find the direct answer so here we are posting somthing that has prob been touched on 100+ times. I am swaping out a chev 350 short block. I have pulled the motor, and swaping it with a truck small block. I will be useing all marine parts, including the heads, just the small block will be the only thing left from the auto swap. The question I have is:

Since the boat has a closed water system, do I need to use marine head gaskets, and freeze plugs?

any info will be helpful

Ayuh,... A set of brass core plugs is Cheap, put 'em in....
A Quality composite head gasket will work...
