chevy 350 swap to 283?

I bought a boat that threw a rod, then didn't get winterized and also cracked the block. I have the opportunity to get a built 283 with 202 heads, roller rockers, and accelerator intake. It's and 1960's motor, but looks awesome.
Is this a dirrect swap? will my marine components just swap over?? And how much Horse Power do you think I will loose??? Almost forgot The boat and 350 are 1983 and mating it to a merc pre alpha outdrive.

I would forget about that swap. The cam is probably WAY off from what you need in a boat. Could end up sucking water back into the cylinders every time you run it.
The fuel pump, carb, distributor would all have to be replaced with marine parts also.
Get a 350 marine engine or long block.

Thanks, I just figured maybe i could seap everything over, I could get the motor for 200 dollars. Could my cam in the 350 swap in also? How could it suck water back into the cylinders??

You're looking to go Backwards.........

You'd be Seriously Disappointed with that Little motor.......

With a Souped-Up little motor, to make Any Real HP,....
It's relying on RPMs to build HP......
That means it's set up All Wrong for a Boat.......
With a Big, Free Breathing Cam,+ it's valve Overlap,......
It'll experince Reversion,+ Suck water back into the cylinders........

You'll end up with a Dog at 1st,+ then a Junk little Hotrod motor.......

Also if the heads are origional power pack or double hump heads they probably dont have the bolt hole bosses to be able to mount accessories to the heads. Find a 350.
