Any Chevy mechanics out there?

I have a 2004 Chevy Suburban (Mexican Built) that has a terrible rattle in the rear A/C overhead console. I asked the dealer to fix this at the last service, but in Mexico City they think this is normal.
Anyone know how to remove this console from the headliner?
Thanks in advance.

Last one I did was older you had to pop the vent cover out to get at the bolts newer ones like your's I'm almost sure have little pop outs you pry out to get to the screws hope this helps

Re: Chevy Suburban Question

Thanks Dolluper! How's the weather in Ottawa?

I have a feeling the console just clips into the headliner as I can slide the whole thing back and forth about 1/4".

I have removed the light lens, control knobs and yet I still cant see any screws or clips. It's driving me crazy, should not rattle like this after 10K.

Re: Chevy Suburban Question

You said you have the lite [beer] lens off the assembly is still there holding the consule, it would make since the assembly screws are holding it, but to make sure run your hands slowly around complete surface you might just find acouple of small #6 screws or any non smooth projections--- we are getting a small dusting today 25-30 or more cm ,where's the cottage?

dolluper,
The cottage (house)is on the south shore of Christie Lake just outside Perth. Hopefully will be our full time home within the next couple of years. With the Ontario winters will still have to keep a small place here in Mexico though.

Boy, you are close! My wife was born and bred in Dewitts Corners and we often go to Stanleyville church. We need to get together for a cold beer next summer!

No joy with the console yet, I'll try and look at this weekend if i can find a nice shady place to work. :D
