chevy to ford swap

i have a boat with a 302 ford merc 188 out drive 1986 i think
and a boat with a bad 305 chevy 1989 Merc 205?
how hard would it be to stick the ford in place of the chevy?

That Ford is Way older than that, 'n Nope, it won't fit in the other boat either...

can i swap out the entire engine and out drive or is the hole in the hull different?

hull hole is the same. if you have everything from water pump to propeller, it can be done

how hard would it be to stick the ford in place of the chevy?

about 100 times harder than just finding another 305 or 350

i really messed up the boat with the Chevy is a 1979 so about the same vintage as the ford boat

does that make any difference

Take the GM power package out.
Install the Ford package.
If you don't tell the hull about it, I won't.
