Also like my 74, there is an "automatic warm up chock" on these motors that there is a Factory Bullitin out on since 72 or something.
What it is:
There is a wire on the chock solinoid that runs to the power block on the top port side of the motor. The factory fix for this is to cut the wire and tape the ends. This way the only time the chock is on is when you hold the switch.
It make is a bit harder to keep running when dead cold, but you can live with it.
Now as for the right wire, i cant tell you at this moment which one it is,a s i am at work. But only onw of the wires goes to this block and the other goes to the switch. You should be alble to unscrew it from the block and tape it up and thus fix this problem.
On mine the chock sol burned up and i had to get a used one as they are not made anymore.

Sorry i get a little drawn out..

PM me and ill send you a pic or two if you need them.

Good luck...
