What should I consider when choosing a prop? I have a Force 85 horse and a Yamaha 50 horse that I will be buying props for. Is it the weight of the boat, top end/low end speed, pulling a skier....etc? Thanks for any help with this.

Re: Choosing a prop

Thats all part of it. The correct propeller is a marriage of the hull design, motor and set up. Set up includes ablance in the boat and motor height (X dimension).

First you have to define how you are going to be using the rig (skiing, fishing, cruising) and your average load. We then use a target prop to determine a baseline and fine tune it from there.

It sounds like a lot but it's actually not that hard. Make sure to install a tach and a water pressure gauge. The speed can be tracked thru a GPS or whatever means you will use consistantly.

Good luck!
