...an ambitious undertaking bowlsey, IMHO, with a boat that size, I'd want to do some snooping around the repair yards that deal with that size regularly. I'm sure that there would be things that you'd need to look out for that might be beyond the experience level of many here.

As to crossing the channel, did it once, on a ferry from ostend to london but I was not at the helm.

Chris-Craft owners can be found on the message boards for BoatUS and YachtForums. Lots of English Channel veterans on YBW.

Kelly Cook

I had a 1964 46 foot Connie. Boy you got your hands full. Best of luck with her. Keep those decks from leaking down the insides of the hull. These boats are famous for rotting from the inside out. I made all the wall panels removable on mine, so I could inspect it every now and then. There used to be a Chris Craft antique owners club out there somewhere. I parted mine out, still have all the vents, railings, ect. Need to get on ebay and start selling.....

Here's a link to a site about a fairly involved restoration of a '61 55 foot connie. Maybe it'll give you some appreciation of the project you're about to undertake. I'd like to see how you project is progressing.

http://www.ftkltd.com/

Best of luck.
