Christler 9.9 outboard

I have a christler 9.9 outboard I can't get the lid off the motor.the latch moves to the left but it's still locked.any idea will help thanks

It doesnt want you to come in and locked the door.. But seriously what year is it?

Not sure it's a 250 9.9

A chrysler 250 might be a sailboat model.-------It was designed for sailboats , with electric start / battery charging / long shaft / large prop.-----Perhaps near 250 cc displacement.

Could very well be all I know it's latch moves but don't unlock
