Chrysler 25hp Sea King help

Pulled the rope out too far on the flywheel. Had to take the top bracket off and tried to loosen the rope so it would feed in the coiler. Ended up taking the whole thing apart then the coiled steel band went haywire and un coiled. Also, a 2 inch piece broke off one of the ends. I can see this is gonna be a nightmare to fix. Anyone know were to get the coiled steel or is it even made anymore? Thanks for the help!

Isn't it thrilling when the spring goes blooey. Even more thrilling if your fingers are in the way. Try Franz at franzmarine. or contact him at Chrysler Crew. It's probably a standard spring for a Chrysler 25. He may have one.
