Hello everyone,
I had the the boat out yesterday for the first time this year and almost everything went well. The only problem is my reverse. Last year, the last trip reverse seemed to be engaging when the throttle was pushed farther back. Yesterday however when I went out I couldn't get reverse at all but forward and neutral were just fine. Not once all day was I able to find reverse. The engine would rev up but it didn't seem to even want to go. I was just hoping someone could help me. I am just hoping it is some kind of an adjustment that I am able to do. Any help with this would be great. I have been on this forum before and people have been very helpful. The motor is I believe a 73 ish Chrysler 30 H.P.

Thanks.

hi, not an expert, but my two pennies worth, have you changed the impellor recently ? the gear selector rod adjustment is by the nut half way down, i found it need only be a 1/8th turn out and you can not get a gear, if you have a manual it should show how to adjust correctly.

Thanks for the reply. No I haven't changed the impeller. The only thing I have done is change the lower unit oil. This nut you are talking about can you tell me where it is. Like you I am not an expert and cannot afford to take it to one. I don't have a manual either. Any good place to get one?

Thanks again for the reply.
