I just want to write a quick note and thanks to you guys helping me out fixing up the engine.
After rebuilding the carb, fuel pump, idle adjustment (throttle stop position) etc, I went to the lake today with an experienced boating friend. The engine started right up, idling fine, shifting into fwd or reverse without any problems. After about 15-20 minutes slow crusing, we decided to floor it (I know, it is not a car). The engine picked up rpms without any problems and the boat planted nicely. My friend estimated the speed was about 20-25 mph. The ride was very smooth and stable. Overall we ran the engine for about an hour non-stop and everything was very smooth. The new trolling motor was completely untouched because it acts as a backup.
(Now I have to practice boat launching and retrieving)
Thanks again guys !
