I am just about to assemble my 75 hp Chrysler and have two different spacer plates, se attached picture. In one of them there is a channel around the exhaust tube an on the other plate there in no such channel.
1. Can iI use any of them in my motor (757HB 1975)?
2. What is the function of the channel? Cooling?

Both plate pictures shows the side aimed at the power head.

Do you see any part numbers on either spacer plate? According to several parts diagrams it should be FA404680 or 817788A3(superseded)

ErSa, it is a water cooling jacket as I said when you where at my house.
I have had some issues with some small leakage at that surface after reassembling power heads. It wants to drip some water there.
I do not know why they change it during Force brand, maybe because they stop with the by pass pop valve at the power head during Force brand too.
I have asked Franz at Franz Marine and he says you can use either of the adapter plates.

Thanks for your answers guys.
I send some mor information.
Plate with cooling channel: #404680-2, white pait.
Plate without cooling channel: 692680, black paint.
According to Nordins advice I will use the plate without channel on my Chrysler. Then he will bee responsible if something bad happens. :)

The function of that channel is for the water to flow around the exhaust area when and if your poppet valve still works you will also see a hole in the adaptor for the water to exit

Most cases the poppet gets stuck and stops working.
Years ago I was told by the Force techs that it can be removed without any adverse affects.
They stopped using them around 89/90
