I have a 1982 Chrysler 85hp outboard with Prestolite ign. Whenever ambient temp is hot (80+) I lose power under load. If I lift the throttle slightly the power will pick up almost instantly. The problem is almost eliminated with the engine cover off, and worst after a long period of idle speed with the cover on. I went through the carbs and replaced the plugs recently with no improvement. The engine starts and idles fine and has compressions in the 130s. I'm about to sink this thing!
