I'm thinking of buying a boat/trailer/ 2 parts motors package that includes a Chrysler boat.

My intention is to buy it, go threw it and part it out for a profet. I'm trying to deturmine weather the hull has any value, I don't think so.

I don't know much about it, but it says chrysler on it, its maybe fourteen you fifteen and a half feet long, its got a dash and windsheald, the bow light and cleats look pre-1980's to me.

The boat has a handle on the outside of the transom, when I grabed it the thing ripped out of the boat, so its got some rot, its on a trailer with the tung on a milk crate with the bow full of water, so much that it crushed the crate, its been like that for at least three weeks.

Anyone got any infomaton on these boats? Are they of any value to anyone?

I really don't want to have to cut it up and throw it out.

Ryan,

You're going to have to cut it up to fix it. Whether or not you throw it out or not, that's your choice.

Chrysler stopped building boats in 1981. Some of the larger runabouts are/were popular. Especially those with the unique Chrysler I/O's.

Re: Chrysler boats

I'm not intersted in fixing it, I want to buy it and re-sell in a week or two.

Do you think some un-suspecting chap would buy it as-is?

Re: Chrysler boats

The real reason I'm getting stuck with the boat is because I want the outboard motors and trailer that come with it.

Ryan,

There is a buyer for everything. I could not sell it to "some unsuspecting chap". It may kill him and someone else.

If you know it's dangerous, and I believe it is, you need to disclose that. Do the right thing.

Re: Chrysler boats

Ryan, go to the Chrysler website and they have most of the original Chrysler boat brochures online from, I believe, 1967-1981.. You'll be able to find the boat you were looking at and get the model name of it. Its a great site for Chrysler boat owners. I just recently sold my 30yr old Chrysler boat/motor combination but it was still in very good condition. IMO, Chryslers made a nice boat and motor, but got a bad reputation when they went out of business. The website is www.thechryslercrew.com

Thanks for the address to that site, DC698. Its a great reference, it was very helpfull to me.

The address is actually www.chryslercrew.com (no "the")

I looked threw most of the sales catalogs and narrowed it down to two models this boat could be, I emailed the founder of the site, maybe he'll have an idea of the value of the hull I'm looking at.

Ryan
If that boat has a rotted transom it is junk. to repair it properly would cost way more than it could ever bring.
