chrysler bought out elgin / sears in 1965?

I have read in several places that in 1965, elgin and west bend and a few others were bought out by the chrysler marine division.
My question is even though my motors have the elgin / sears logo on them, should I post in this forum because it was owned by chyrsler?

I have a 45 hp made in 1966 and a 75 hp made in 1967.

does anyone know or have any other information on this?
