Does anyone know what size plywood the stringers and floor in a Chrysler pro bass runner 16' are? It looks like the floor is 1/2" but the stringers are hard to tell they are all swollen.

I don't what size the current ones are, but if you are going to tear it all out and rebuild eveythiing, you can almosy go with any dimensions you want within reason. On a boat that size, 3/4 to 1 inch stringers are fine. The more stringers there are the thinner they can be, but don't go thinner than 3/4 inch. The floors are often 1/2 inch. The more stringers, the thinner the floor can be, but don't go thinner than 1/2 inch. Transoms are often 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch. The splashwell dictates how thick you can go. Just remember, don't go crazy and try to overbuild with 2x6s or bridge abuttments, it all just adds weight. Good luck...

Thanks Jason, This thing is so rotted that it's really hard to tell. To think I had this boat on the lake less than a week ago (scary) if it hadn't been for the leak I was willing to go with the soft floor but all that was left of most of it was the jell coat.

My web page is down, otherwise you could see how bad mine was. Difference was I never really ran it, I bought it and did the rebuild. I litterally had no structure at all. Someone had just layed in some 3/4 ply on top of the rotted mess, covered it with indoor/outdoor carpet, and went with it. I cut that out and was horrified at what was underneath. The stringers and floor were nothing but mulch laying in the bilge. Very nasty.

I got the top off yesterday, what a trip, everything is shot, by the way the top on that boat is heavy, two of us lifted it off when i got the jillion rivits out and brackets off, gads really needed a fork lift, lol guess i'm just getting old. How do you post pics here? I'll put some on as i get into it. The foam was watersoaked and heavy, suprised me the boat performed as good as it did, ran real good till it filled with water, thank god for a bilge pump.
