Chrysler Powerflow Lower Units

Did any manufacturer adopted the design of Chrysler Powerflow Lower Units used in the three cylinder engines and above? <br /><br />Did these units had exhaust after and through the propeller or just after the propeller?

If you take a look at some of Johnson's older product you will see that it too vented behind the prop..as many other brands did. Thru hub exhaust has become the norm.<br /><br />TMD

But by exhausting through the hub aren't the propeller blades smaller and thus with less thrust vs. the "Powerflow Lower Units"?

Technology of the shape of the blades has come a long way. Thus making them far more efficient.<br /><br />TMD
